Paid Internships

We believe in teaching the next generation the ins and outs of landscaping.

We provide paid internships to eligible candidates; internships can be customized depending on your area of interest. We have 5 divisions to serve our customers’ landscaping/gardening needs: Residential Design/Build, Commercial Construction, Residential Maintenance, Commercial Maintenance, and Retail Garden Centers.

This is a paid internship; $14 per hour wage. You may also qualify for college credit through this internship.

Duration & Dates

Internships are a minimum of 6 weeks and a maximum of 16 weeks. They are usually available during summer, but we can accommodate spring and fall interns as well, depending on your area of interest.

Sample Schedule

The schedule is flexible and will be customized depending on length of internship and your interests.

2–3 weeks with Residential Design/Build

2 weeks in field
1 week job shadow: sales person

2 weeks with Commercial Construction

1 week in field
1 week job shadow: Project Manager and estimating

2 weeks with Maintenance (Residential, Commercial, or both)

1 week in field: maintenance crew
1 day in field: irrigation crew
1 day in field: interior plant maintenance
3 days job shadow: Account Manager

1–2 weeks at Retail Garden Center (Lake Oswego or Cedar Hills location)

1 week at administrative office: accounting and/or purchasing


Must be enrolled in a horticulture or landscape-related 2- or 4-year degree program
Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
Must provide current resume and complete in-person interview
Must possess a positive attitude and willingness to learn
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, including marijuana
Must be able to travel to work sites around Portland
Must be able to physically perform various jobs, which can be demanding
