Cascading Backyard Resort
This award-winning landscape transformation turned a neglected double-lot mid-century property into a stunning, multi-level backyard retreat. The homeowner’s vision called for a large pool, generous entertainment space, and a safe, connected landscape between the steeply tiered lots—all designed to accommodate family gatherings and accessibility for elderly parents.
With over 17 feet of elevation change, the project demanded extensive engineering, including a massive system of segmented block retaining walls, grand stairways, and integrated planting terraces. Temporary access roads were built to manage equipment and material flow through the steep, muddy site during a challenging winter construction.
The result is a cohesive, modern outdoor environment that flows seamlessly between home and pool—blending structural ingenuity with inviting design for everyday relaxation and large-scale entertaining.
