I have been a part of the landscape industry for over 25 years. I began as a concrete paver installer. In that time, I became a nationally certified paver installer, permeable paver installer, and a nationally certified segmental retaining wall installer. Though most of my background is in “hardscaping”, I’ve always had a vision of how the entire landscape will develop into a balance of function and aesthetics. I believe that the space should dictate the design based on wants, needs, and budget. The remaining space should speak to you on its use of form, balance, and style. Ultimately, your outdoor space should be an extension of you.
By focusing on coastal landscapes and implementing fresh, innovative ideas, I can help create a landscape that is truly unique and tailored to your needs on the northern Oregon Coast. By using cohesive design principles to draft a landscape that works in harmony with your existing living space and understanding the specific challenges of coastal design, I can bring a new vision and new use to your outdoor space. With a strong commitment to sustainable and cutting-edge design and construction techniques, the landscape I will create for you will be a one-of-a-kind, comfortable, and relaxing space to enjoy. With over 20 years of combined construction and design experience, I am well prepared to help you tackle even the most challenging projects.
Having grown up in the industry, landscape design and construction has been a huge part of my life that I’ve always loved. Graduating from Cal Poly with a degree in horticulture and a concentration in landscape design was an easy choice to make. With a wide array of ideas, themes, and solutions, my passion consists of transforming an outdoor space into a living sanctuary. With my client’s input, wants, and needs, I love creating a unique landscape that will entice homeowners to find peace in this extension of their home. Your landscape should be a representation of who you are as a person. Whether it’s just an installation of a few plants or an entire property remodel, let’s go build something!
My position with Dennis’ 7 Dees started in the field—I spent several years working with a crew to bring to life all the beautiful designs that I now put together myself. I’ve had the pleasure of working with most of the designers on our team, and I feel that what I bring to the table is a little inspiration from each and every one of them. The transformation of a “Before & After” is why I love this job so much!
Through my lifelong exposure to the landscaping industry, I have gained a keen interest as well as longtime experience. Over the years, I have been a maintenance worker, a construction foreman, and a landscaper, and I have also worked in nurseries for most of my life. At this point, I am proud to be a third-generation landscape designer. My goal is to transform your dream into a reality through imagination, innovation, and experience, no matter how large or small the size of your project. I look forward to working with you to create the best possible outcome that fits you, your needs, and your budget.
I started landscaping in 2004 and have since been fortunate enough to have created hundreds of inspirational designs, improved thousands of beautiful landscapes, and experienced countless wonderful memories and friendships. Over the years, I’ve discovered that a landscape can be a beautiful, evolving puzzle that is an extension of the home and of the lives of the people who experience it. I’ve also found that most people know what they like about a landscape but are unsure where to begin and how to fit all the pieces together—that’s where I come in! I combine your goals and dreams with my experience and trained eye to combine those pieces in a personal way that has form, flow, and function, ensuring that the process is enjoyable, and that the outcome is beyond what you imagine!
As a designer, I take pride in educating and introducing people to a new world that they potentially have never been exposed to. My goal is to ensure that your landscape is not only a reflection of good planning and design, but a reflection of yourself as well. There is nothing like helping people transform their properties from the place they live into the place they call home. Landscape design has been a passion of mine since I was 14 years old. I started with my parents’ landscape, mowing lawns, and working with small hometown landscape companies, and I decided that this was the life for me! I graduated with a Bachelors in Horticulture, Design, and Contracting. It is true what they say: “If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life!”
My design philosophy is simple. It revolves around my clients’ needs and wants. I incorporate my expertise and present ideas that the client may not even realize are possible, adding personal touches to create a unique landscape design that is as functional as it is beautiful. I achieve this result through open conversation; by listening to my clients and by offering suggestions. I feel that designers often get too wrapped up in their own creation. Instead, my goal is to bring my clients’ ideas to life, using my tools and experience to help them achieve the result they desire; it is my job to look beyond boundaries and find what best matches their objectives. I take joy in a diverse range of design styles, from ultra-modern to traditional Japanese.
Over 40 years in the landscape business have gained me so much to share with clients who desire creative problem-solving and practical, enjoyable, and beautiful landscaping improvements. I’ve won 25 awards to date for my project designs. Whether you want an award-winning project or have a specific need, my goal is your total satisfaction.
