Cottage Garden Farmhouse Retreat

This custom cottage garden landscape design transformed an oversized sport court into a welcoming farmhouse-inspired outdoor retreat. Designed for entertaining, gardening, and everyday enjoyment, the landscape combines abundant plantings, outdoor living spaces, and thoughtfully crafted garden features to create a warm and inviting backyard.

This landscape design and installation project presented several unique challenges, including removing more than 1,200 square feet of reinforced concrete, protecting the roots of a mature tree near the new deck and outdoor kitchen, and resolving significant drainage issues. Through careful planning, precise root mapping, soil improvements, and thoughtful grading, we transformed the space into a beautiful cottage garden landscape with flagstone pathways, lush low-maintenance plantings, subtle landscape lighting, and inviting outdoor living spaces that can be enjoyed year-round.
